PTI May Blog Hop...Building Bouquets...

Saturday, May 25, 2013

Heading out with my family on a little vacation today.  But I squeezed in a little time during packing for a card for today's blog hop with PTI.  I chose the following 'bouquet builder' color scheme...

That's one of my all time favorite color combo's...I love yellows and pinks together!  I am kind of thinking now, that I should have challenged myself to a new color scheme, though.  I used the Beautiful Blooms #1, and Heart to Heart die sets to create some flowers...

A couple of punches were used also, for the smaller flowers and for the center of the largest one.
I also used a couple of flourishes from Fancy Flourishes as a background for my spray of blossoms...

Those 'Think Big Favorites' sentiments sure do come in handy!  This is not at all the look I was going for initially, but this is what I ended up with...and I had fiddle-farted (did she just say that???) around with it for long enough that I sure wasn't going to ditch it!!!  So I hope you like it!  Enjoy the hop!  If I can pry a computer away from the kids in the hotel tonight...I look forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with, and what the favorite color schemes were!
Thanks so much for stopping in!

It's Friday...Festive Friday and Precious Remembrance...

Friday, May 24, 2013

Hey, everyone!  Happy Friday to you!  There's a new challenge up at the Festive Friday Blog!  This round is a color challenge of red, green and gold...

I used one of WPlus9's great die sets...Seasonal Sentiments for my focal point.  (I love word dies!!!)

That little snowflake in the center of the 'o' comes in the set, too!  It's so detailed and pretty, although it doesn't show much with the button I plopped on top of it!

There should be plenty more inspiration for you at the blog if you're interested in getting in on this traditional Christmas color scheme challenge.

You know I usually have a project waiting for you at the Precious Remembrance blog on Fridays.  We're still working with the 'Little One' set...

Here's a little peek...

Feel free to hop on over and check out the rest of my project there!
Thanks so much for dropping in today!

Fusion Creation...

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Here I am again, as you all may guess...with the clock ticking down...about 15 min. before this Fusion challenge closes...

I find this challenge irresistable, but am having a hard time fitting it in to one week. (A two-weeker, anybody???;)  Here are the blossoms I made...similar to an earlier Fusion blossom, but these are no-sew, no-fold...

And here's the card...fitting for upcoming graduations, I thought...

Tried to fit a little butterfly in, but it just wouldn't work...too cluttered with the rest of my 'stuff'.  Needless to say...I must be brief, but always appreciate your visits and always appreciate the inspiration offered up by the Fusion team!!!

More Sweetness for Festive Friday...

Friday, May 17, 2013

Hello, my crafty friends!  A little more sweetness for the second round of this challenge at Festive Friday...

I've always loved those sweet Mouse House stamps, and when I saw this one at Hobby Lobby...even though you all know I don't color much... I thought it would be perfect for this challenge...

And the good thing about these stamps for me is...these soft and cuddly little characters are very presentable just done in chalks, which is quick, easy and forgiving.  I might just have to pick up another to try!  The candy canes were done with my watercolor pencils and glittered {also pretty quick and easy}.  And I guess that's all I have to offer for today.  You really should see the rest of the "sweet" inspiration from the team...delightful, and so cheery this week!  And just a CLICK away!
I do hope you have a wonderful weekend, and am so thankful that you've stopped in today!

FUSION!!!...{pant, pant, pant}...I like you a latte...

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Man, I'm almost LATE!!! Don't shut it down yet, girls!!!
Here's the inspiration at a favorite challenge blog right now...FUSION...

...and here's my FUSED creation...

I used my Cricut {some} for the cups, although I wasn't totally happy with the originals and did a little hand cutting to get them to my liking.  And there are a couple of my favorite feathered friends from PTI's Merry Little Christmas.

Gotta link it NOW!!!  Love you FUSION!!!
ETA:  Lyndal notified me of the Little Red Wagon challenge of using a doily in your creation, so I'm linking up there, also!  You guys are probably sick of my doilies but, thanks, Carolyn, for the challenge!

~10 Minute Craft dash~

Hello, everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  Precious Remembrance is sponsoring the 10 Minute Craft Dash with the following {lovely} palette...

Perfect for the Little One stamp set, the new little bundle over at Precious Remembrance...

See there???  You could win it!!!  But not if you don't get your dash on!   This is what I came up with...

A little paper-pieced carriage...ONLY because it is a very simple one to cut out.  And if you look closely, you'll see I didn't cut those little scallops...they just show from the pre-stamping of the image on  the card base...

Kinda cute for a quick card!  I went over just a tad...the little band that divides the carriage in 1/2 wasn't there originally...it was just stamped on the lower gingham print, but I couldn't stand it once I set it up for it's picture...had to have that little strip on contrasting paper.  I was at 9:17, but started the clock back up to re-stamp the carriage, snip that little strip off, and glue it on!  And that put me right over the edge!!!  Oh, well...I sure had fun trying!  (Funny how this little challenge gets my heart pumpin'!)

Thanks for stopping in!  Have fun with your own dash!

~Little One~

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Hello, everyone!  Happy to have you here today, and let me start by saying...please forgive me...for not visiting much this week.  I spread myself a little thin between 'creative fun' and 'creative responsibility', (it was nursing home week!) and have found myself very behind. I'll catch up soon, though!

I'm here to share a peek of my card for a new set at Precious Remembrance...Little One...

I chose to do a little paper piecing with the bear...in a teeny tiny print from my Crafty Secrets CD...

If you're not in the market for a new set perfect for welcoming little ones,...no worries.  But if you are, it would be worth your while to head over to the Precious Remembrance blog to check out the inspiration with this set from the entire team!  They never disappoint! (In fact, you wouldn't be disappointed even if you're not in the market for a baby set!;)

There's also a new challenge up at the Festive Friday blog with lots of cheery inspiration from the DT...

And my card...

And there you go!!!  Now...be off!!!  Enjoy your day!  And, thank you so much for visiting!

FUSION collage...

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

I must be quick today...the clock is ticking!  Did I have time for this card??? NO!  But I did it anyway.  Here's the inspiration up at FUSION...

I thought Lesley's inspiration was so, so pretty, and was inspired to try a collage-style card with it, using the sketch as a rough draft...

I know, it's kinda hard to see the sketch in there, but I was inspired by it, so I guess I've fused the two once again.  I know it's a little different, but I do appreciate you popping in to check it out!!!

Thanks, once again, to the Fusion team for all their inspiration!

Just a Friday...

Friday, May 3, 2013

Hello, my friends!  Hope this finds you having a pleasant day!  A few things to share as I always do on a Friday.  First this...

...a peek of my card over at the Precious Remembrance blog.  Next up...the card I shared only a peek of here a couple weeks ago using the same set (Mom and Dad)...

And Finally, my Festive Friday card.  We're in week 2 of the current challenge...

You friends of mine know I have a thing for birdies...so I've really enjoyed this challenge!  This card is nothing fancy, but there's something about it I really like...(besides the bird!!!)...

...That sentiment, for one...it's from a new Technique Tuesday set! (new to me, that is)  This is the nicest set!!!  I just love it...great sentiments to choose from!

Yes, it's the simplicity I love about this one!  I could have added this and that...a silver mat, a narrow red glittered strip up one side...how about a red ribbon???  Nah...I just decided to keep it simple, and I think that's the way I like it!  Now if you've got a thing for birdies, like me, you may want to get in on this challenge.  You have almost a week left and you should find LOTs of inspiration over at the blog today...including some from a brand new team member,  Ardyth!!!  If you haven't stumbled upon her work yet, it won't be long.  And you won't be disappointed...Each and every creation of hers is just so lovely, and perfectly put together.  AND...she's SWEET, too!  Welcome, Ardyth!!

Alrighty then...I'll let you get on your way.  So happy you were able to stop in today...see you again next week!

FUSION ~ Hello Sunshine ~

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

And 'hello' to you, too!  Getting in under the wire again at Fusion this week!  This was our challenge...

As usual, I had a hard time separating the two, and 'fused' them for my card.  I created a sunny little scene, allowing the sketch, some of Lesley's colors, and the style of the flowers to be my guides...

The cookie cutter looking flowers in the inspiration immediately made me think of the various 'doilies' that came downloaded on my Cricut, so I chose one and layered it on top of a doily I inked up for my sunshine.  The branch is from the Cricut, also.  The little bird is from PTI (Tweet Talk??).  Some day (like in Heaven, maybe) when I'm designing my own stamps;)...a birdie set would be first on my list to create...so many sweet little greetings they could be sharing!  (OK...I won't make you suffer through my daydreaming!)  Thoroughly enjoyed this challenge, once again...so a big thanks to the talented Design Team for offering the inspiration!  I so appreciate Lesley keeping it going!  Thanks for popping in today!  I appreciate it!
