Precious Remembrance and...*FUSION* Friday...

Friday, July 26, 2013

Note:  My friend, Ardyth, pointed me in the direction of the CASology challenge with the trigger, 'gold', with my Fusion card below. I've never played there, and since I've had fun dabbling in CAS a little lately, I thought it would be fun to link up there!  Thanks, Ardyth!  And, Lyndal pointed me toward Addicted to CAS,  with the code word 'glitter', so I'm linking up there also!  Thanks, Lyndal!

Hello, everyone!   Happy Friday to you!  I'm thankful you've stopped by to visit today!  Does anyone know what happened to the 'lazy days of summer'???  YIKES!...I just start to think I'm caught up and maybe 'on a roll'...and then...reality check!!!...I turn around and see piles here, and piles there, and all of the sudden my to-do list has grown to overwhelming proportions!  But...we HAVE been having the nicest summer here in Indiana!  My husband and I make sure we find at least a few minutes each day to sit out by the fish pond to chat and just soak up summer...it'll be gone before you know it!

Today I have a card over at the Precious Remembrance blog using the new Journey set...

(That's the little teaser for ya!)
And I have another card to share...this one for the FUSION Card Challenge!  Friday just got a little busier, as I have the honor of being on the Fusion DT now!!  Sweet!  And something else that's sweet...they've changed to a bi-weekly challenge.  So for those of you like me, who struggled to get a card done in a week...now you've got 2 of 'em!  After a month off, a new challenge is up and running today...

...so you can choose the sketch, the photo, or BOTH to create from.  I went with the photo and used a design from my ever-so-talented friend, Ardyth, for my card.  She made a card with the split panel layout I've used today a good while back, and I've always wanted to CASE it...so I did...with the silver and gold from the photo...

There are some little starfish in the photo, too, so I included some glittered veneer stars as accents...

Pretty CAS, huh?  ('Simon Says' stamps and die) Hope you like!  Head on over to the FUSION blog for more inspiration, and play along with us!

My girls at Festive Friday have fresh new inspiration for week 2 of the Pink/Silver color challenge that you may want to check out...I've already seen it and it's GORGEOUS, ladies!!!

OK...I'll let you go!  I've kept you long enough!  Thanks again for stopping by....have a great weekend!

~Simple Elegance for Festive Friday~

Friday, July 19, 2013

Hello, my friends!  Time for another challenge at Festive Friday!  Take a look...

Isn't THAT lovely???  I have an extremely simple card to share for this challenge...I don't want to hear any 'boo'ing!  My first try didn't work out like I planned, and it had been a busy day, so while I was on the road running kids, a set and a couple of it's images came to mind that I couldn't help but imagine being embossed in silver...

Now brace yourself...I don't think I've EVER made a card so simple...

(Well, it sure shows, Geri;)  But I kinda like it!  The images are from an old Me & My Big Ideas set...I do believe my friend, Susan, gave it to me one Christmas.  The DT cards over at the Festive Friday blog are EXTRA pretty this week, and, I'm pretty sure they all took more than 10 minutes to make!;)  Although, our Guest Designer, Laura Bassen sure created an ultra-CAS beauty for us!  You don't want to miss 'em!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

~Jackie's 'Tender Shoots' challenge~

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

I don't know about you, but I have been delighted to see regular posts from Jackie Rockwell again!  I've admired her designs for quite some time now, and am so happy to see her blogging again!  She's hosting a few color challenges to help her jump back in the swing of creating.  This card is for her color challenge using 'Tender Shoots'...a pretty green that looks like this...

We can use our closest match to that green and other neutrals in our project.  I created a soft vellum flower for mine...

...and paired the green and white up with gray...

...(I liked those stripes!  MMEye!)  The sentiment is a current favorite from PTI's Birds and Blooms.  It's so pretty, and I know I can throw it on the front of lots of cards and later make the inside fit what ever occasion comes up.  You can find all the details of Jackie's challenges HERE, but the challenges using the Spring colors are open until September 22.  A random winner will win a free blog banner by Jackie, which may be gifted to a friend if the winner doesn't need it.  I'm lovin' that idea!

Thanks for the challenge, Jackie, and thanks, friends, for stopping in today!

~Soft and Pretty for Fusion~

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Well, I know it's a bit unusual for me...but I'm here on a TUESDAY!!!  What is this world coming to?!?  I've been getting in a lot of crafting, but have several things unfinished.  But today I wanted to post a few that ARE finished and I wanted to NOT be the last one to link up to the current Fusion challenge...

(I found lots to like there!  How about you?)  And if you're wondering...'why is she not huffing and puffing to meet the Fusion deadline...as she always is???'...it's because the current challenge lasts an entire MONTH! So I've created not one...but TWO cards, thank you very much!

The first is a birthday card for a friend of my daughter using my new WPlus9 stamps...the lovely Folk Art Florals...

And, by the way, you can see I've gone with the sketch this time.  Jilli picked out some make-up for her friend, so I made a little paper basket for it with a super fast homemade template...

(Hmmm...maybe it was too fast...I can see it's a tiny bit crooked!;)  That pretty lace is from Craftpon, an Etsy shop...I love it!  (They have a ton of buttons and other supplies, too!)  Then, I was inspired to try another card from the sketch...

Lots of white on that one, huh?  And one more soft and pretty floral creation using a little more lace from Craftpon...

I whipped up a little burlap gift bag to embellish.  I used my PTI beautiful blooms and some felt and fabric for the flowers...

This lace is wider...about 2"...so the bag may be bigger than you would expect...maybe about 7" wide.

OK...I'm off!!!  Delighted to have some time to create for fun and for Fusion again after a couple busy weeks!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Another dose of Friday craftiness...

Friday, July 12, 2013

Hey, everyone!  Happy Friday to you!  Thanks so much for dropping in today...It's 'Inspire Me Friday' over at Precious Remembrance, so here's a little peek of the project I have waiting for you there using the new Journey set...

It's also week two of the current Festive Friday challenge to create based off this trigger...

I wanted to go a little more CAS and elegant for this second round of the challenge.  I used some pretty Hero Arts flakes and stamped them in Fresh Snow (PTI), and embossed a wood mounted 'Noel' in silver...

This is a card that is definitely prettier in person...it was a little hard to photograph...

So you still have almost a week to get in on this snowy challenge.  There's a little give-away for three randomly picked participants of this one!  Head to the blog for the details and more inspiration from the team!

Thanks again for stopping by!

Festive Friday and a new Precious Remembrance set...

Friday, July 5, 2013

Hello, everyone!  I'm happy to say I'm back among the crafting!  I've only begun catching up with blogging friends...went straight from my busy two weeks at church, to preparing for a 4th of July get-together with family.  You can imagine what shape my house was in after 2 weeks of stopping home only long enough to pick someone up or drop someone off...then racing off again...The trails and piles we left behind each time amazingly just grew and grew!  Thank goodness Daddy was gone that second week and didn't get lost in it all!  So...I had a bit of work to do to be ready for company yesterday.  But this morning I am breathing a HUGE sigh of relief...the rest of summer should be a breeze!!!  So I couldn't be happier as I type this this AM...I sure have missed blogging!

Dyane has a new set at Precious remembrance called 'Journey'...

Doesn't that look fun?!?  It's being shown off over at the blog today by all the designers, including new team member, Sue Lelli.  I'm sure many of you already know her.  Here's a little peek of my first creation with the set...

It was fun painting those Maya Road chipboard letters and adding Glossing Accents to make 'em shine!  (Looks kinda like my favorite summer polish for my toes!;)  A 'Journey' set will be given to one random comment-er, so if you're interested at all...get on over to the PR blog!!!  And, by the way...Dyane's sets stamp beautifully...any inconsistencies on my card are due to the fact that I stamped off the image once before stamping it onto my card...for a softer look.

And it's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday.  I didn't even have time to post my last two cards here.  The previous challenge was to add a tree element...

And the new challenge is to create based off the trigger "SNOW"...

You can see I decided to go with a bit of a chalkboard look to highlight a snowy scene.  There's some embossing and die cutting from PTI in there,  some stamping from My Time Made Easy, and a bit of silk ribbon  And I wanted to come up with a design that could include that little veneer house. It's one of 8 or 9 different designs in a pack from Prima...with several of each design.  Mine was painted, distressed and glittered...

As part of a little Christmas in July celebration, 3 random participants in this 'SNOW' challenge will each receive a package of 10 of them to play with...

OK...I've kept you for long enough...Thanks so much for your visit!  Don't forget to visit both the Festive Friday and the Precious Remembrance blogs today for more inspiration!
