~PTI August Blog Hop~

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful and sunny Sunday!  I'm glad you've popped in for my PTI Blog Hop cards...I have three to share!  You know...when the colors and sketches are given to you...half the work is DONE!!!;)  So the first is from this inspiration...

...not my normal colors, but I thought the sketch looked fun...even though I changed it up a little.  The sentiment was a little tricky with my narrow strips, but I settled on this...

...and here's the finished card using my Embellishments set...

Not knowing exactly where I was going with this card, I even wove the strips together.  Then I went and plopped a big ole blossom on top, and now you'd never know the trouble I went to!!;)  I'm not 100% happy with that one, but definitely thought it was worth sharing!  Next up was this pretty inspiration...

...now THOSE are my kinda colors!!!  Here's the first, using a border from Round and Round...

...and my personal favorite of the day, using my first EVER purchased PTI set, 'Guide Lines' (just a few years ago!)...

(...there's that pretty 'Hello' from 'Birds and Blooms'.)  I won't keep you  today!  With all the activities and crafting going on this weekend...I'm sure everyone is trying to move along quickly!  Enjoy, and thanks so much for stopping in!!!

Hey, Everyone!  It's time for another fun challenge at FUSION!...

I've been looking forward to using a 'new to me' set from Hero Arts and put it to work for the photo inspiration side of the challenge...

I didn't have any watermelon images so I went down the 'citrus road' and added some yellow and orange in with my pink...still has a nice summery feel.  Had to embellish that jar...isn't the lace pretty?  It and the little wooden flower button came from Craftpon.  And the rest is a mix of this and that...scraps of paper and words from a couple different sets/companies for my sentiment (PTI and Precious Remembrance).

You can head over to the blog  for more inspiration, or click on the designers below to see what they've whipped up for this challenge which will be open for two weeks.  Hope to see you there!

I have a couple more projects below using more buttons from Craftpon (so many buttons, embellishments and findings there!)...

The flower button comes in a natural wood color.  For my jar, it was painted white and glittered.  For this card, though, I used markers to color the buttons and added matching Prima jewels.  I used some flower images from PTI's Beautiful Blooms that matched the button shape and added a few jewels to those as well. The rest of the images are from Precious Remembrance (Positive Thoughts, Journey, Mom and Dad), and the butterfly pieces are from Studio Calico.

Another Craftpon button was used to embellish this flower...

I thought some of the painted buttons would make cute centers for some bolder flowers, and I liked the way this one turned out...super simple card, too!

OK...I've kept you for long enough!!!  I appreciate you dropping in today and hope you have a great weekend!

~Festive Friday...Children's Theme~

Friday, August 16, 2013

Hello, all!  Thanks for stopping in today!  I have one lonely little card to share...but it's a happy one...

...for the new Festive Friday challenge to create a Christmas project with a children's theme...

Hmmm...I had to pull out the Cricut for this one...which is always kinda fun since I'm still in the learning stages.  My little sledder was from the Winter Frolic cartridge.  I will say that these smaller Cricut creations sure give my bifocals a workout!!!  (AND my little paper tweezers!) But he's a sweet little guy, and he was worth it!

So, if you're interested...head over to the Festive Friday blog for more inspiration!  Or better yet...get inspired, and then play along!  We have a wonderful guest designer with us...Amy Kolling!!!  I'm really interested to see what people come up with for this one...should be fun!  Maybe I'll see you there!!

~Happy Birthday, 10 min. Craft Dash!~

Monday, August 12, 2013

Happy Monday, everyone!  Oh, my...a big sigh here, with a mixed bag of emotions...all three kids are off to start the 2013/14 school year as of this morning!  And they all went away excited...if only it was this easy EVERY morning!!!  Thought I may as well jump into a bit of crafting...to get my school year started of right!;)  I've been wanting to join in the fun and help celebrate this birthday...

...and I knew I couldn't invest a lot of time crafting today, so it was the perfect challenge for me!  I pulled out some favorites to inspire me...Simple Stories...

...thought those sweet little balloons would be perfect for a friendly birthday greeting. And my time???...

...just over 10.  I could have done it, but I had a couple issues...I had die cut my first little cloud with the text upside down.  (And that little one is the one that's hard to get out of the die...especially when you're in a hurry.) I am glad I noticed before I stuck it on, though. And...I accidentally pulled the adhesive off my chipboard piece.  Since I was in a hurry...I had zipped off enough of it that I thought I'd better go ahead and carefully take it all off and just glue it.  Without those two issues, and without stamping...it really was a quick and easy card!

Congratulations, Paulina, on your fun little challenge turning 1!!!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a great week!

~Fusion 15~

Friday, August 9, 2013

Hey, everyone!  Second post for today!  You'll find Festive Friday and Precious Remembrance if you scroll down!  There's a new challenge and new inspiration up at the FUSION blog today!  If you follow the photo inspiration, you might choose to incorporate a little chalkboard design like I've done here...

I fused the sketch and photo inspiration for my design...

...using a Simple Stories frame, some PTI stamps and dies, and felt.  And about a day after I finished my card, I saw a sweet post from a gal I follow, Megan Berry, who does free printables...and the new one she posted would be perfect for this challenge! It was too late for me to use it, so I thought I would pass it on to you...just click HERE!  (At the bottom of her new post is a link to a previous post with additional chalkboard images/tags...CUTE!)  Along with Megan's inspiration, you'll find more lovely inspiration for this challenge from the rest of the FUSION team...

So what are you waitin' for...get inspired, and get to craftin'!!!  You've got 2 weeks!
Thanks for dropping in!  I sure appreciate it!

~Festive Friday and Precious Remembrance~

Happy Friday, my dear crafty friends!!!  Summer is just about over here...for all practical purposes, anyway...school starts Monday and my kids are getting excited!  It's been a great summer, and they have accomplished a lot and had a lot of fun, but this tired mommy is ready for a more predictable routine...and just a tiny bit more peace and quiet, I must say.  But that's next week...TODAY I have a couple creations to share...

There's a fun candy cane element challenge going on over at Festive Friday...

I hadn't had time to post my card for week one, so I have 2 to share today...

These retro style candy canes are humongous and are from a kit I bought last year on clearance...lots of fun elements...including the holly.  (Gold paint spatters from PR's Positive Thoughts, sentiment from PTI's Think Big Favorites #9)  And this week's totally different card includes some teeny tiny ones...

(Large sentiment from Technique Tuesday's, Jingle all the Way) So there's a week left in this element challenge, if you'd like to jump in...and more lovely second round inspiration from Meredith, and Sarah!

Every other Friday also holds a Precious Remembrance project, and today I have my final project with the Journey set posted...

...Daddy's framed 'birthday card'...(the card maker couldn't get inspired to make just a card...too much I wanted to include;)  Head on over to the blog for more photos and details.

Thanks so much for stopping in!  You can expect one more post from me later when the new FUSION challenge goes live at noon!
